About Me
I live in the south of England and have worked in the computing industry for over 30 years having taken the classic progression of graduating with a computing degree and then working as (using the terms applicable at the time) a programmer, analyst, designer and in later years as a solution and then enterprise architect.
Before moving into computing I qualified as a mechanical and production engineer and completed a five year apprenticeship.
I have had an interest in astronomy all my life, and yes, I am just old enough to remember watching that “one small step”. Astronomy is a great fusion of my astronomy, computing, engineering and photography skills and interests, which I hope I have conveyed via the content of this site.
Here I am in my roll off roof observatory; see the Observatory page for details of how I built it and my equipment setup.
